Common questions
- How is my dex saved? Can I sync between devices?
- Your dex, streak, and stats live entirely on your device — there's no account and no backend. To move progress to a new device, use Settings → Export progress on the old device, then Import progress on the new one.
- Where do the species photos come from?
- From iNaturalist contributors, used under Creative Commons (CC BY or CC0). Each photo is credited to the photographer in the species detail view inside the app.
- Why are today's species the same for everyone?
- The daily five are picked deterministically from a UTC-date-seeded shuffle, so every player worldwide gets the same five on the same calendar day. Talk about today's round with friends without spoilers from yesterday.
- I missed a day. Did I lose my streak?
- Yes — streaks reset if you skip a day. The app frames the missed day as a fresh chapter rather than a failure, but the count restarts from one.
- Can I get a daily reminder?
- Settings → Daily reminder. The notification is local — your device schedules it; nothing leaves the app.

Privacy
Wildex Daily is a daily wildlife species guessing game. It does not collect personal information. Everything you do — your streak, your dex of identified species, your settings — stays on your device. There is no account, no login, no analytics, and no advertising. Information stored on your device When you play Wildex Daily, the app saves a small amount of state to a private storage area inside the app (AsyncStorage), which only Wildex Daily can read. This includes: • your current and longest streaks • the species you have identified (your "dex") • the dates you have played, up to the most recent 90 days • your preferences (language, theme, haptics, daily reminder time) This data lives on your device. It is not transmitted anywhere. Uninstalling Wildex Daily, or using Settings → Reset progress, clears it. Information sent over the internet Wildex Daily makes a small number of standard internet requests on your device's behalf: • Species photographs are loaded from iNaturalist's image servers when you view them. iNaturalist, and the content-delivery networks it uses, sees the standard request information any web request includes — your IP address, your device's user-agent string, and the photo URL. Wildex Daily does not control or receive that information. iNaturalist's privacy policy, available on their website at inaturalist.org, governs those requests. • "Read more on Wikipedia" links open Wikipedia in your default browser. From the moment you tap the link, Wikipedia's privacy policy applies. • The contact form opens your email app pre-filled with a message and the support address. Your message travels from your email account to that address through your own email provider; Wildex Daily itself does not transmit, log, or receive a copy. Local notifications If you opt in to a daily reminder in Settings → Daily reminder, your device's operating system schedules a notification locally and delivers it at the time you chose. Nothing is sent over the internet. You can turn the reminder off at any time in Wildex Daily's settings, or revoke notification permission entirely in your device's OS settings. Children Wildex Daily is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13. Because Wildex Daily collects no personal information from anyone, it collects none from children. If you believe a child has shared personal information with us through the contact email, write to us at wildex.app@outlook.com and we will delete it. Your rights (California, EU, and UK residents) Privacy laws in California (CCPA), the European Union and United Kingdom (GDPR), and elsewhere give residents rights over their personal information — to access it, correct it, delete it, or restrict how it is used. Because Wildex Daily holds no personal information about you, there is nothing on our side to access, correct, or delete. To clear the data on your own device, use Settings → Reset progress, or uninstall Wildex Daily. Changes to this policy If anything material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date below and, where appropriate, surface a notice in the app. Contact Wildex Daily is operated by Max Zulfer in Washington, USA. No accounts; no user-generated content The App does not provide user accounts and does not host user-submitted content. Any message a User sends through the in-app contact link travels through the User's own email provider and is governed by that provider's terms; Operator does not transmit such messages on the User's behalf. 6. OPERATOR'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE APP SHALL NOT EXCEED USD $0, REFLECTING THAT THE APP IS PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE; WHERE A LIMITATION TO ZERO IS UNENFORCEABLE, OPERATOR'S AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED USD $50. 8. Changes to the App or these Terms Operator may modify, suspend, or discontinue the App, or any feature of it, at any time and without prior notice. Operator may revise these Terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date below reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after the Last updated date has changed constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. 9. Governing law and venue These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and User consents to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. 10. Severability If any provision of these Terms is held by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. 11. Entire agreement These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between User and Operator regarding the App and supersede any prior or contemporaneous understanding on that subject. 12.
